Elena Marco, head of the department of the Architecture and the Built Environment at the UWE, went to Bordeaux to the international biennial conference AGORA, (architecture and urbanism), as a representative from Bristol:
“Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be part of the AGORA Biennale d’Architecture, d’Urbanisme et de Design de Bordeaux. I had a fantastic weekend which allowed me to explore a completely transformed city as well as being part of a number of key conversations in relation to city making. The Agora exhibition, programme and venue was fantastic giving us the possibility to explore different city strategies in one place. I had the opportunity to explore Bordeaux and the clear strategy for a world heritage city. I also was able to meet RCR Architects who I passionately follow. All in all, my experience was exceptional and I have not stopped talking to my students and staff.”
Elena has also expressed an interest in developing the exchanges between students of the two cities.
